Although Milan, Italy based singer Paolo Pibi paints from the all-natural globe, he describes his surrealist surroundings as pictures regarding the inside of his head. Like Giorgio de Chirico, Salvador Dali, and other Surrealists before him, Pibi’s acrylic paintings break free through the right representational surroundings which are familiar and simply take us into various other worldly territory.
Pibi combines the terrene using the impossible, featuring geographical elements like gravity defying land bridges, misty waterfalls lit by unnatural light resources, and hills and vistas often framed by openings as though the viewer had been appearing into this world from a cave. It’s a uniquely extraordinary destination lacking life aside from a periodic lone spotted dog that features no apparent relevance. Recent images have attracted inspiration from golden chronilogical age of Ancient Greece and Rome, components of that are “covered” by drifting portals into another dimension. This might be an ideal that has been shared by singer Rene Magritte which once stated, “There is an interest in that which can be concealed and that your noticeable cannot show us.”
“Each artwork is ways to explore my subconscious and to try this i would like perhaps not think about what I paint, ” Pibi published in a message to Hi-Fructose. “I try a absently condition so as to do not have filter from my mind to my hand… I think in sincerity of my work with respect to your viewer.” Regarding his procedure, he shared, “I like the mistake. Initially that I step-in front regarding the canvas are manufactured from the chaos. Like, do instinctively a black brushstroke when you look at the sky with no knowledge of the reason why it is usually an excellent sign to guide me personally when you look at the correct way.” Pibi’s photos confound expectations, as if to suggest that their interior globe can be as complex and ripe for exploration as our real life. His dramatic perceptions of nature shown here reflect the uncanny, sometimes evasive imagery of hopes and dreams, misconception, and fantasy.
